Evidence for Equity

At Evidence for Equity, we believe that high quality evidence and research is the foundation for taking action towards a more just and equitable world.

We work with organisations who share our belief that effective action is grounded in good evidence.

We take the time to understand the questions you’re asking, so that we can work with you to develop the most effective research strategy to get you the answers you need to take action.

We believe evidence isn’t useful unless it is understood by people and organisations that are working for change, so we work with you to understand the audience. We can work with you to develop suggested outputs based on our years of experience as well as your goals.

Who we are

Dr. Emily Clough, Director

Emily Clough

Emily is the founder and director of Evidence for Equity Limited.

She is an environmental justice researcher and policy expert with over 20 years of experience bridging academic rigor with applied climate action. Having transitioned from an academic career to leadership roles in the NGO sector, she has consistently focused on using evidence to address urgent challenges at the intersection of environment and society. Her background includes leading the data investigation team at the climate NGO Global Witness, conducting consultancy projects on the Sustainable Development Goals for the United Nations, and serving on the board of the Scotswood Natural Community Garden and Rainforest Foundation UK.

Dr. Clough is deeply committed to climate justice, frequently exploring the local impacts of environmental crises—from researching the social inequalities of AI technologies at the Ada Lovelace Institute to advocating for UK communities experiencing repeated flooding. Throughout her work, she emphasizes the ethical use of data and the translation of complex research into actionable policy to drive real-world change.
